A comedian himself, T.P. Gajendran has penned
many full-length comedies. He swears that they
never fail at the box office and can even be considered
as a minimum guarantee genre for producers.
After a long gap he is now back to directing
movies, for which he is busy casting actors. He
says this is again a comedy movie and will have
all the leading female comedians in it including
Manorama and Kovai Sarala. T.P. Gajendran feels
that there is a dearth of female comedians in
Tamil cinema and he is hell-bent on setting it
right. He started acting, after he was offered
a role in Naan and Bharathy, which gave him recognition
as a comedian who could deliver. This, he says,
has encouraged him to take on more such roles
including Kathavarayan and Pollachi Mappillai,
where he will share the screen space with Sathyaraj
and Goundamani. As for his acting career, he intends
to carve out a niche for himself in the lines
of yesteryear actor T.S. Balaiah.
