According to our sources, the trouble started earlier this year, with Tamil films Sivaji, Vijay’s Pokkiri and Azhagiya Tamil Magan, released simultaneously in TN and Kerala, were well received in the latter state affecting the collections of Malayalam films. Therefore, it has been decided not to permit Billa on the same day it hits the screens in TN. This problem, industry sources say, has more to do with the strained political relationship between the two states, than anything legitimate.
