Ayangaran International, holds the overseas rights
for the movie.
North American distributors aren’t comfortable
with the high price that has been quoted. The
starting of the winter has also not gone down
well, among the exhibitors too. “Kreedom,
though made profits in India, was not a profitable
venture for the exhibitors in the US. So there
is certainly some apprehension over the price
that can be offered for this movie, that too with
a harsh winter being predicted”, says an
exhibitor, who requested not to be named.
Another exhibitor talking to Behindwoods correspondent
said, “I am not sure if we will have enough
time for a December 14th release. Agreement has
still not been reached. Then there is the danger
of not getting the required theatres. I think
there has to be some consent made soon in a day
or two. And I don’t think the movie will
be released in India without a settlement made
here.”
There is no official news on the distribution
details of the movie in another hot trade sector
– Malaysia.
