Karan’s next film Kathavarayan,
produced by Friends Cinema and directed
by Salangai Durai, is going on at a
brisk pace. Karan plays the role of
an illicit arrack brewer and the story
is about his travails. While filming
a scene, which involved Karan and some
junior artistes brewing arrack in one
of the villages around Hognekkal, the
director, to make it more authentic,
roped in some real life arrack brewers
from the nearby villages.
However, this news spread to the local police
who reached the spot and nabbed them.
The incident has the director in a fix as he
feels those arrested could take it out on him
for the whole fiasco. Sometimes it is better to
play safe than sorry.
