Although
Tamil fans have a fondness for established
actors, debutants are quite often
noticed, especially talented ones.
An all-new team of debutant talents
is planning to test waters with their
upcoming venture Azhagiya Asura.
Produced
by J. Ravi for the banner Jeyram Creations, Azhagiya
Asura is directed by Nagu – who had been
an assistant director in the industry for 15 years.
Yogi – grandson of Thengai Srinivasan –
plays the lead role and is paired up with newcomer
Regina. Regina is a teenager studying in Lady
Andal, who the director claims to have a pretty
face and an appealing smile. She manages her school
and cinema life perfectly and we adjusted her
shoot schedules so that it does not clash with
her school days, affirms the director.
Azhagiya Asura was kicked off on May 2nd and is
all set for a December release. The movie is expected
to hit the screens on December 22nd. The crew’s
plans to visit Thailand were delayed when it was
learnt that Regina and her mother did not have
passport. The crew could not visit Thailand even
after obtaining passport and had to shelve their
plans since the military regime took over the
country.
Yogi seems to have become an apple of the director’s
eye. Nagu, the director stated that Yogi was injured
and hospitalized during one of the stunt scenes.
However, he attended the shoots the very next
day thereby not letting the shoots to suffer,
Nagu added appreciatively. Debutant Brahma scores
music Azhagiya Asura.
