Starting
15.12.2006 will be the Bollywood festival
of big releases. Raising the curtain
on the festival will be Kaabul Express
and Aryan, both releasing Friday.
The opening for Kaabul Express which
is an admittedly different attempt
starring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi
is expected to be well above average
after the prety cold reception that
was afforded to Baabul the past weekend.
Aryan,
which was slated fo release much earlier in the
year finally makes it to the screens. The movie
starring Sohail Khan and Sneha Ullal showcases
the turbulent life of a boxer. The reception for
this movie is expected to be pretty damp especially
due to the huge delay.
Continuing
the festival of big releases in Bollywood
will be Priyadrshan’s Bhaagam Bhag
starring Akshay Kumar and comeback man Govinda.
This movie will hit screens on the 22nd.
That will wrap up 2006. But the festival
continues well into 2007. releasing in January
will be a truckload of big films.
Salaam-e-ishq will be the biggest of them
all. Also releasing in January will be Ramgopal
Varma’s Nishabd which tells the love
story between a 60 year old man and a 18
year old girl. The movie stars Amitabh and
a new face. Also releasing will be Shootout
at Lokhandwala, the big gangster flick.
Add
to this the seemingly unstoppable Dhoom 2 and
we will be having pretty much all flavours of
life on screen. Style, action, war, travel, comedy,
love; you name I and you have it on screen. This
is nothing short of a festival.
