Not
to be left behind from Bollywood in
the remake bandwagon, Tamil cinema
is all set to remake two of Rajini’s
hits back to back (Billa and Murattukkalai).
Now, it seems that the remix fever
is traveling deep into the bygone
golden age of Tamil cinema. Sources
reveal that Ratha Kaneer – considered
to be one of the classics of Tamil
cinema – is geared up to be
remade.
Ratha
Kaneer created ripples among the public those
days for its content including its idealistic
dialogues, insightful theme and M.R. Radha’s
acting to top all that. Ratha Kaneer was a stage
play created by Radha himself, which later found
its way into movies, thanks to Radha.
It is rumored that Sathyaraj will play the lead
in the to-be-remade Ratha Kaneer. Sathyaraj, who
has a penchant for Periyar’s ideologies
and policies, is currently portraying the leader
in the movie titled after the leader’s name.
Point in fact; Periyar was Sathyaraj’s dream
role and if he gets to play M.R. Radha for the
remake of Ratha Kaneer, it will certainly be a
double treat for him.
Certain alterations are reported to be made to
the original script of Ratha Kaneer to make the
movie suit the present day audiences.
