Now, the Producer’s Council has imposed
another rider on this rule. According to its President
Rama Narayan, there have been several representations
from various quarters regarding the title of two
movies. One is Simbu’s Kettavan and the
other is Sundar C’s Porukki. “These
names hurt the sentiments of many people,”
he said. If the trend continues it could have
a bad impact on the Tamil cinema.
To avert the crisis, the producer’s council,
which forwards the recommendation for the tax
exemption, has called both Kettavan and Porukki’s
producers to explain the impact of the situation.
And both the producers have agreed for a name
change. The hunt is already on for a good name.
