Aggrieved by this, Senthil Kumar appealed against
the said order, which was taken up by Chief Justice
A.P Shah and Jyothimani. The translated version
in English was submitted in the court along with
a declaration from Kamal that the story belonged
to him.
When the matter came up yesterday in the High Court,
Senthil Kumar was represented by senior counsel
K. Subramani and Kamal by senior counsel P.S Raman.
The actor’s advocate strongly stated that
the notice served to his client on grounds of cheating
ought to be dismissed. Kamal’s contention
was that it was copyrights issue and cannot be treated
as cheating. In retaliation, the opposition claimed
that it falls within the purview of cheating as
his client was deceived into imparting with the
story giving him false hopes that he would be appointed
as an assistant director.
Later on, both the parties were called into the
Judge’s chamber for a secret hearing. Senthil
Kumar and his advocate spent about 15 minutes
with the Judges in his chamber. Likewise, enquiries
were on with Kamal which lasted for about fifteen
minutes. His advocate was also present during
with him.
When the reporters wanted to question the actor
about what the outcome would be in this case he
refused to disclose anything but merely said that
his advocate would be available for comments.
