an ugly face |

Why
would anyone look for an ugly face, unless
one is trying to scare someone to death
in the middle of the night? But then Balaji
Shakthivel is trying to find a face that
is ugly in all respects; he wants one that
does not look good from any angle. Wait;
do you remember who Balaji Shakthivel is?
After all he has been away from the news
for quite a long time. Well then, he is
the man who directed the surprise superhit
Kaadhal in 2004. |

Where
has he been hiding all this while?
Why hasn’t he started a new
film? Well the reason is simple. It
isn’t a story problem; he has
one ready, it is not to do with the
script too. Neither is it the producer,
director Shankar’s banner is
set to produce his movie. The problem
is that the director is not able to
find a face that can make people squirm
in their seats. That’s what
he wants, ugly. In all respects.
Why would he be looking for such a
face? He says that the script demands
such a face. He has already seen many
aspirants but he has found them all
to be too ‘good looking’
for the role.

Looks
like he wants a truly grotesque face on
screen. We wish him all the best in his
efforts to find one, because as we all
know, all people, no matter how badly
disfigured, do look at least acceptable
at some angles. Thinking of the movie,
would anyone like to watch a thoroughly
distasteful face on the big screen for
nearly 3 hours? It will take some courage
on the part of the director and producer
to carry out this project.
