We
all know the power and influence of media,
the double edged sword. The visual media
is more powerful and intense than its
other counterparts. The following incident
has only reiterated this fact.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna is the latest film
directed by Karan Johar which hit the
screens last week. The movie is all about
extra-marital relationship and infidelities.
This movie has revoked mixed response
among the public and media over the last
week. The director through his movie conveys
that if couple in wedlock is not happy,
then they can seek happiness wherever
they find it.

A
married man in Mumbai was so influenced
by this fancy idea and took his wife
to the movie thinking that she would
allow him to marry his girlfriend.
But much to his disappointment, his
wife did not agree to his idea leaving
him in utmost rage. The husband, unable
to control his anger attacked her
with a sharp weapon in the middle
of the road and almost killed her.
Luckily for her, she survived and
gave a statement reporting all the
above incidents. The couple has two
children too.

When
the director Karan Johar was contacted for
his response on this, he was shocked and
never expected that his movie would kinder
such a reaction. |

We
have also heard cases of youth hurting
themselves while trying to perform the
stunts that their heroes supposedly do
on the big screen. This only goes on to
emphasize the social responsibility that
filmmakers have. They should realize and
understand the reach that their films
have on innocent public and try to convey
something useful to the society.
