Viewers may not have forgotten Sudha Chandran,
the gritty actress who rose to greater heights
with her Tamil film Mayuri. She is now playing
a lead role in the Tamil serial Jeyam produced
by Kutti Padmini for Jakarb Telefilms and
directed by her husband Prabhu Nepali. This
would be aired on Jaya TV from September
4. |

Our
sources reveal that Jeyam is the
sequel to Krishnadasi which was
telecast a few years ago with veteran
actors like Gemini Ganesan and Nalini.
On her role in this serial, Sudha
says that she is a dancer daughter
of a poor purohit and tries every
bit to bail her family out of poverty.
To help her family, she marries
a rich man and the troubles that
she comes across in her married
life forms the crux of the story.
The character might have grey shades
though not completely negative.
Sudha Chandran is now happily married
to director Ravi Kumar Dang and
settled.

Though
she does make her appearance in Hindi serials
and Marathi films, it took her almost two
decades to land in a Tamil serial. While
talking about Jayam, Sudha says that her
proficiency in Tamil helps her to complete
the shooting quickly. She is needed here
in Chennai only for five days a month. During
this time, she completes twenty five episodes.
The acceptance of Sudha in Tamil serial
would be known after September 4.
