You have to admit the fact that only remake
movies that are directed by Raja are grabbing
the limelight, be it Jeyam, M. Kumaran or
the recent release Something Something,
Raja managed to generate a crowd puller
out of the remade movies which mainly had
base in Telugu.

Strangely,
his brother Ravi could set the cash
registers ringing only if the movie
was directed by Raja.
Seems like Raja has no reservations
to direct movies that have base
in Telugu or in other words, to
remake movies that are normally
Telugu hits. Raja, in a recent press
interview stated that he does not
feel it is a sin to remake movies
of other languages to Tamil. He
says he would prefer to buy the
original movies paying proper compensation
to be remade rather than cribbing
from original movies.

Well we do not know whom he had in mind,
probably the folks who manage to hit the
bull’s eye ripping stealthily from
movies, Hollywood mainly. He further stated
that this does not mean he cannot create
original movies. His focus now remains in
generating profit and money cautiously banking
on the movies that were proven hits.
