Veteran actor Aamir seems to be back from a sabbatical after his recent blockbuster success with ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Fanaa’. To add to the honors, Aamir is recently ranked as the No.1 Bollywood actor by a news portal. He is seen gracing many a functions with his presence these days and Chennai falls next in his row.

He will be in town to preside over the Kollapudi Srinivasan memorial award felicitation ceremony that is scheduled in town today, August 12, 2006.

The Kollapudi Srinivasan memorial award is being conferred this time to Indirakandi Mohana Krishna for his directorial excellence for the Telugu movie ‘Grahanam’. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh and a certificate.

Promos of Aamir’s arrival in the city can be spotted everywhere adding glitz to the impending event. Renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan from the music director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will render music to the occasion. Celebrities like Ramesh Sippi and Shobana are in the list of guests of honor and Goutam Ghose will be seen delivering the memorial lecture. ‘Joggers Park’ girl Perizaad Zorabian will be seen serving as the presenter the function.
