Seems
like the Madhavan–Bhavana starrer
‘Ariya’ is biting dust for various
reasons. The movie has been stalled until
recently owing to financial constraints
which the producer managed to pull off and
the shooting resumed after a break. The
producer thought his troubles are over with.

|
|
The
shooting of the movie is under progress
in Chennai harbour with Maddy and
Prakashraj. During the shoot, the
director witnessed something strange
in the Russian ship docked in the
adjacent jetty of the shooting spot.
There seemed to be a tussle between
the prisoners and the passengers
of the ship.
Producer Manoj Kumar and director
Balasekharan, in a recent press
conference had to say this:
|
|
|
Getting
consent from authorities to conduct shoot
in the harbour is next to impossible since
it is a highly protected area. But we were
lucky enough after our persistent efforts
to get through and were shooting the scenes
related to Maddy and Prakashraj with the
help of giant lights. |
|
That
was when we noticed a woman trying
to get out of the ship and subsequently
she was attacked by another person.
Following the woman, there were
four others who tried to get out
of the ship and they were also
charged and pushed inside. The
ship left the harbour immediately
after that. That was when we decided
to press the panic button and
inform the police about it.
The police immediately responded
and went into the sea to find
out what was happening inside.

|
|
Upon
enquiry it was found that the women were
prisoners in that Russian ship and were
sentenced for a life time for 17 years and
strangely enough they have to undergo their
punishment time onboard the ship and will
only be let to touch the land after their
full term ends, the producer concludes. |
|
Well
does it hurt to generate a little publicity
for the movie in the name of Russian prisoners? |
