Afghanistan resurrected in Chennai for Vaaranam Aayiram

Vaaranam Aayiram, Gautham Menon’s next film after Pachaikili Muthucharam with Surya has finally begun. The team was scheduled to leave for Afghanistan to can some shots there. But unfortunately they were not able to leave for the place as scheduled due to visa problems.

Meanwhile not wanting to waste any time further, they have opted to recreate Afghanistan in our very own Chennai. A simple set has been erected at the Guindy Campa Cola grounds to bring alive the land of Pathans here and it was also learnt that the shooting has already commenced at this venue. In the mean time they are also working towards obtaining visa for the crew and when it comes through, the rest of the shooting will continue in Afghanistan.
