Exemplars of committed and devoted artists
in the filmdom are plenty. In Hollywood Tom
Hanks is known for his dedication towards
work which has been amply rewarded in the
form of academy awards and nominations. In
his film Cast Away he had donned the role
of a FedEx employee who gets marooned in a
Pacific Island.

This film had showcased Tom in two diametrically opposite
forms of physical health. He was portrayed as a healthy
well built man but towards the end of the film, looked
utterly emaciated. Hanks had really worked hard on his
body to depict this difference.
Similar cases of devotion are available in bounty in Kollywood
too where artists apply their heart and soul to the characters
that they play to accomplish realism. In the current times,
Surya and Vishal are set to exhibit such traits for their
films Vaaranam Aayiram and Malaikottai respectively. It
is a well known fact that in Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam
Aayiram, Surya will be playing double role. To differentiate
between the two characters, Menon has decided that one
Surya will be slim, lean and young while the other one
will be a gigantic body builder. Surya being a thorough
professional is already said to be working towards achieving
this look. On the other hand we have the young and upcoming
Vishal who had initially amassed a lot of muscle power
for his cop role in Sathyam. But as the project has been
postponed, he will be shooting for Malaikottai now in
which he is expected to shed a lot of flab which he is
doing diligently. Film acting has sure turned very serious
these days…
