Ajith's Billa has been drawing attention right
from the day it was announced. The inaugural
function, which happened recently, was a very
low key affair. The lead pair of the original
version Rajini and Sripriya were also present
to wish the team luck.

What drew the attention of press and public alike was
the conspicuous absence of the controversy queen Nayantara,
who has been roped in for the lead role. Rajini, who has
an eye for every detail, enquired director Vishnuvardhan
about her absence for which he has stated that Nayan didn't
want to get raked up again in any sort of spar with the
press. The news is that Nayan will be joining the team
in Malaysia next month, right in time for the shooting.
Talking about the music of the film, the director was full of accolades for music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Vishnuvardhan recalled that the young music director, one of the fastest music composers in recent times, has composed music for Billa swiftly. He added that the music, with two remixes, "My name is Billa and Vethalai," has come out very well.
