hinted that the movie deals with a historical theme dating back to the time of Kulothunga Chozan. The recent legal crisis of the film has resulted in the judge revealing an interesting segment of the storyline of the film. According to this, the film is said to begin in the 12th century and end in the 21st century. A Vaishnavite belonging to the 12th century has been sentenced to death; a scientist invents a biological weapon. The rest of the movie deals with the efforts and attempts of the hero to stop the American undercover agents to pilfer the biological weapon to their country. Though this appears to be the story, one can always expect twists and turns from Kamal Hassan and the actual tale will come to light only after the release of the film.
