Now that Sivaji is coming only on the 17th of May, the other movies are trying to get into theaters for the festival season. No one wants to miss out on this opportunity and then lie waiting in the cans for God knows how long the Sivaji fever is going to take to die down.

As a result we now have a glut of films coming out in the next one month. Ajith's Kreedom, in keeping with the practice of releasing a film on his birthday, was planned to come out on May 1st.
But then, 16 days before the Rajinikanth magnum opus looked too little for the producer. He might have thought that by the time the Sivaji storm hits Kollywood, Kreedom should have made good its investments and if possible some profits. So, giving himself every chance of earning as much as possible, the producer seems to have cajoled the star into getting the film in theaters 4 days earlier, on a Friday. Kreedom will hit theaters on the 27th of April and it doesn't have much in the form of big competition, though Cheran's Mayakkannadi has the potential to upset Ajith's birthday party. It might be a bit of a 'tongue in cheek' statement, but Paruthiveeran still looks very strong at the box office.
So come May, one thing is for sure... Tamil Cinema fans are in for a delightful treat of variety!
