Kerala population last year is being tailored currently
to suit the Tamil audience. This film titled 'classmates'
recorded huge success at the box office, was a multi-starrer
involving Prithiviraj, Naren, Kavya Madhavan to name a
few. As college happens to be the seat of action in the
film, there was much excitement associated with 'classmates'.
Remake in Telugu is already underway. In Tamil, the remake
rights of the film were obtained by Gemini labs after
fierce competition from many companies. The film in Tamil
will be directed by Kumar who had apprenticed with the
likes of Balu Mahendra, Kadir and Seeman.
It has been reported that many of the popular young brood
of actors of Kollywood have refused this film as this
is a multi star project. Hence new comers have been approached
to be cast in the film. On the other hand, multi star
projects are very common in Bollywood as actors there
have no qualms about accepting such offers because they
believe that everyone has a scope for performance in such
films and there is healthy competition among them to bring
out the best from each other. Will the trend change in
Kollywood too?
