Hundreds thronged a street in Thondiarpet, Chennai
at the ruling party’s election campaign
in support of the party’s contestant P.K.
Sekar Babu. And they had an incentive to be
there. They could catch a glimpse of actress
Simran, their dream girl, who shared the dais
with the party candidates. With no make up and
wearing a pair of plain glasses, Simran hardly
resembled her ‘sexy’ screen image.’
Dressed in jeans, a white kurta and a dotted
’bandhini’ dupatta, Simran made
a brief speech, praising the AIADMK regime for
curbing rowdyism, and for the steps taken to
solve the water crisis and the conditions of
roads.
