Yet another film. Yet another ‘stay order’.
‘Tirupathi’, all set for release
on Tamil New year is now facing problems. In
a petition filed with a civil court, A Suresh
mentioned that the film production company K.A.K.
Films, which he was representing, had earlier
sought permission with the Tamilnadu Producers’
Council to begin shooting for a film titled
‘Tirupathi’. The title was registered
and permission granted to begin shooting in
2004. In fact, close to five lakhs was spent
towards the initial production costs. In 2005,
the title of the film was again re-registered.
However, word reached him that AVM Productions
and director Perarasu was shooting for a film
with the same title with Ajith in the lead.
The petitioner has objected to AVM Productions
plagiarizing a film title that has already been
registered. Will Tirupathi hit the screens as
planned? Thala fans just can’t wait.
