Once in a while comes a film that breaks all
the prevailing myths about box office preferences.
The recent example is the Telugu film, Sri Ramadasu,
about the poet-saint, Bhadrachala Ramadas. It
is a total anti-thesis about a popular Telugu
film. No garish costumes, ear shattering music,
bone crushing action or skimpily clad heroine
gyrating to show off dangerous curves. It is
a devotional film and the performances by the
lead cast of Nagarjuna and Sneha have raised
it to great heights. Interestingly, Nagarjuna
is an action hero himself but he is reinventing
himself with such delicate roles as in his previous
hit of the same theme, Annamayya.
