The shooting of ‘Pathaka’, a supposedly
‘non-violent’ film directed by K.Madhu
is in progress in Trivandrum. However, people
witnessed a bit of action on the sets. Only
this time, it is for real, and in a strange
twist of events, was between Navya Nair and
Renuka Menon, the two heroines of the film.
Both the actresses from ‘God's own country’
have been trying to make a mark in Tamil films.
Navya Nair who was introduced in ‘Azagiya
Theeye’ went on to render great performances
in ‘Chidambarithil Oru Appasamy’,
and ‘Amirtham’. Renuka has ‘February
14’, ‘Dass’ and ‘Kalaba
Kadalan’ to her credit.

In
between shots, the two heroines were having a
casual banter, discussing their recent films and
which ones were doing well. And trouble started
when Navya remarked that she was proud to do ‘meaningful
roles’ with ‘big’ directors.
Not one to be outdone, Renuka Menon quipped that
she had won accolades for her role in ‘Kalaaba
Kadalan,’ to which Navya retaliated saying
that was only because of her "sizzling"
performance. This lead to a verbal duel between
the two which soon escalated into fisticuffs.
Finally, the film's lead actor Suresh Gopi and
the director had to intervene to restore peace,
and the shooting commenced after some time. |
