Time and again, South Indian directors have
broken geographic and language barriers, and
have come up tops in Hindi as well. Be it ‘Ek
Duje Keliye’ by K.B, or ‘Roja’,
‘Dil Se’ and ‘Yuva’
by Manirathnam, or Priyardashan's recent film
‘Malaamal Lottery’, they have all
done us proud. Not to be left behind, director
Bharathiraja is about to direct a Hindi film,
titled ‘Cinema’, with Nana Patekar
in the lead. We already announced the film's
launch in Mumbai. Actors and actresses from
the film fraternity attended the ‘muhurat’
wishing the director success. Actress Sridevi
exclaimed she was thrilled to be there for her
mentor, who cast her as ‘Mayil’
in his debut film ‘16 Vayadhiniliye.’
