It is not just directors and choreographers
that are bitten by the acting bug.
Even producers are now making a
beeline to hog the limelight. The
latest to join the bandwagon seems
to be Udayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant
Movies.
Excerpts from a recent interview
published by a popular Tamil magazine
make it clear that Udayanidhi Stalin
is considering a proper script to
mark his debut as hero in a Tamil
film soon. Udayanidhi had mentioned
that director Dharani had once told
him that he had a script ready penned
only for him. However, the producer
was not intent in donning the greasepaint
at the time and refused to hear
the story. Udayanidhi added that
he was apprehensive that people
may comment on his decision.
Meanwhile, offers started pouring
in from all quarters on hearing
that Dharani had approached Udayanidhi
and the producer, after much contemplation,
had decided that he could star in
a film. Sasi Kumar, Venkat Prabhu
and Myskkin are in the race to direct
a film with Udyanidhi but all are
busy with their respective projects
and would be free only on its completion.
Sasi Kumar received an offer from
Udayanidhi to direct him but the
former had said that he would take
up the project only after completing
his present venture.
Myskkin had reportedly told Udayanidhi
that he would make himself available
after finishing the film with Kamal
Haasan. It is worth a mention here
that KS Ravi Kumar has taken pride
in launching the acting career of
Udayanidhi by offering him a cameo
in Aadhavan!
