Hotel Accord Metropolitan, Chennai
hosted the commencement of a series
of success celebrations of the Diwali
release Peraanmai. Celebrity attendees
included producer Karunamurthy,
Arun Pandiyan, Thangar Bachan, director
Jananathan along with Jayam Ravi
and four lead ladies of the film.
Thangar Bachan spoke on the occasion
revealing that although he was not
invited for the event, he meant
to be a part of the celebrations
of a movie that made him patriotic
in more ways than one. “I
haven’t had a passport for
a long time since I did not want
to be branded as an Indian. But
I got one anyway for my recent Srilanka
visit. Although I’m not a
very patriotic person, watching
Peraanmai made me one. It’s
a powerful movie,” he said.
Jayam Ravi elaborated on the hardships
he went through for the movie adding
that all his burdens lightened when
the movie received standing applause
at a press screening. “Jananathan
is a very intelligent director with
whom one can discuss about various
topics ranging from wild life to
missiles,” he added.
