Kamal Haasan had said a few days earlier that he would like to play a role in the Malayalam film Traffic, if it is remade in Tamil. This had set the ball rolling for remaking Traffic, which had Rahman, Vineeth, Kunchako Boban, Sreenivasan, Remya Nambeesan and others in important role.
Word from Kollywood is that Kamal had wanted to direct this remake too and later decided against it as it would require a lot of time. Sources say that Kamal is keen on completing this thriller very soon and moving on to his next film which might probably be Selvaraghavan’s.
Rajesh Pillai, the director of Malayalam version of Traffic, is said to direct the Tamil remake too.
