The shooting for Nanban has been going on smoothly so far and everybody agrees that Shankar is moving at record speed. In fact, the enitire Nanban team has been operating like well-oiled machinery. And then unfortunately one day, things went horribly wrong and the shoot was thoroughly disrupted.
The shoot was scheduled to happen at a college on the outskirts of Chennai. Word leaked out and soon a huge crowd gathered desperate to catch a glimpse of Vijay and the rest of the power cast. Vijay and Shankar were accommodating and addressed the fans and even posed for pictures. But then the crowd became more demanding and refused to leave the area despite repeated requests. This delayed the shoot and things started spiraling out of control as a war of words broke out between the mob and some of the crew members.
The fans became unruly and started throwing things; with some even breaking a few of the set pieces gathered for the shoot. The cops were called in and they had to disperse the crowd. Shooting resumed but only after extra protection was secured for the team.
