Thandavam began with the customary inaugural pooja in Chennai. Soon after the pooja, the photo session commenced. The event was attended by some of the well-known faces in the Tamil film industry including Vikram, Jagapathy Babu, Amy Jackson, director AL Vijay, Saranya Ponvannan, GV Prakash, Dhananjayan, and others.
The film stars Vikram in the lead role with Jagapathy Babu as the second hero. Amy Jackson is one of the heroines in Thandavam which has music by GV Prakash.
