One of Tamil cinema's directors met with a great personal grief today as his son Ranjan had a mishap in his school. A reputed school in KK Nagar was the scene of this tragic occurrence as Ranjan, studying in standard four, could not handle his swimming lessons and died of asphyxiation. He dived into the pool and fell unconscious. The incident took place around 9.30 am and even though the boy was rushed to the Vijaya Hospital, he died on the way.
His relatives and the general public are up in arms against the school as they feel it is a case of neglect on the school's part and a case has been filed in the K.K.Nagar police station.
