In a surprising turn of events, producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies has announced "Due to unavoidable reasons we are postponing the shoot for Vada Chennai. In the meantime, Cloud Nine Movies joins with the magic combo of Vetri Maaran and Dhanush". he added that Velraj is the cinematographer and GV Prakash will be doing the score.
Vada Chennai has been beset with problems from the beginning with Rana Dagubatti opting out of the project. Later there were reports that STR had also left the film as he was busy with other pending films and his Love Anthem. Now the film has been delayed for an indefinite period. But fans will look forward to a film which has Dhanush and Vetri Maaran teaming up.
