Music
– Sabesh Murali
Lyrics – Pazhani Bharathi
Ammuvagiya Naan’s story revolves around a
prostitute called Ammu. Parthiban falls in love
with this woman and woos her to marry him. Sabesh
and Murali, in their short career, have made a mark
for themselves. Carnatic-based songs which happens
to be their forte, has always created an impact
among the audience. Songs of Ammuvagiya Naan are
based on its story and hence the music will please
the public only after the release of the movie.
Here’s a music review of Ammuvagiya Naan.

Kadala Kadale - Mathangi
The song starts, promisingly, with a typewriter
sound followed by the sweet voice of Mathangi.
But there seems to be nothing new as regards
the music as we feel a sense of déjà
vu. The lyrics are written tastefully. Yet
the final outcome is satisfactory. Nothing
much to rave about - an ok affair.

Kadhalle Kadalle 2
–Sabesh Murali
Sabesh Murali impresses us with their rendition of
this version of the title song, but haven’t
done anything different from the original version.
It’s just the male variety of the same song.
Rating – 2.5/5
Silir Silir Silirkuthudi
- Srilekha Parthasarathi
The song sounds too old to be enjoyed in these modern
times. Srilekha has done a decent job but there is
nothing much to speak about the music of the song.
Looks like the music directors have got their inspiration
from many songs like Guru’s Mayya Mayya, Alisha
Chennoi’s Made in India to name a few. The song
is a definite no – no

Thoranam Ayiram
– Geetha & Deepika
Sabesh Murali hits back with an ear pleasing
Thoranam Ayiram with good lyrics. The carnatic
song sounds impressive with rich background
score. Sometimes we do feel this to be an Illayaraja’s
yesteryear classic (that’s not a bad thing).
Subesh Murali have done a good job and the vocal
rendition of Srividhya, Geetha & Deepika
is extremely pleasing. This is not for masses
but for classes and only the elite and erudite
music lovers will enjoy the track.

Unnai Saranadainthaen
- Harish Ragavendra, Kalyani
Easily the best song in this album. Kalyani starts
the number with her beautiful voice and till the end
the mood is kept ripe. Kalyani and Harish Ragavendra
lift the song to an entire new level. Will be a good
hit among the classes and the masses alike.
Rating – 4.5/5
You don’t expect a chartbuster from Sabesh Murali
but they have come with two pretty good renditions.
But both these soundtrack carry a classical touch
to it throughout. Though it is easy on ears, it’s
a genre of songs that has a miniscule audience for
itself. The title song is ok. On the whole Sabesh
Murali has given an average album.
