Dasavatharam
is a mega budget movie produced by
Oscar films, directed by K S Ravikumar.
Kamal for the first time in his career
is donning ten different roles. The
rumour mill is working over time churning
out various stories everyday regarding
this film.
Sometime
back, a young man by name Senthil Kumar had filed
a case in the court claiming that Dasavatharam
is indeed his story which has been plagiarized
by Kamal Hassan.
According
to this gentleman, he had approached Kamal's
office with a story a few months back. Looking
visibly impressed with his story, Kamal's
office had promised Senthil Kumar that he
would be absorbed as an assistant director
in Kamal's next film and would be appropriately
compensated too. But much to Senthil' shock
and surprise, the news about the commencement
of Dasavatharam had stared appearing in
the media which had his storyline.
Aggrieved by this he has moved the court
for justice. Now summons have been issued
to producer, director and Kamal Hassan to
appear before the court. The release of
the film is also stalled for four weeks.
This
has brought down the morale of the unit
significantly. But totally unperturbed and
undaunted by all these events, Kamal is
getting geared up for the next schedule
which is slated to be held in Malaysia in
the month of February. When Kamal was quizzed
on this, he seemed a relaxed man. According
to the veteran, such episodes are absolutely
normal in this industry. He also adds, "It
was an uphill task during the making of
Virumandi when someone claimed that it was
his story which appeared in a weekly magazine.
But the release of the film silenced all
my adversaries. But these things cannot
tire me out. Dasavatharam would hit the
screens as per schedule."
Though
Kamal appears cool and composed, this has certainly
rocked the boat from producer's side. As Dasavatharam
happens to be a mega budget film, any deviations
or delay in the release of the film is sure to
affect the film on the commercial front which
may have serious repercussions. This may also
cause a cascading effect on the other films produced
by Oscar films like 'Pachaikili Muthucharam, Unnale
Unnale and Marudamalai.
