Sivappathigaram
Vishal’s
movies are hot properties these
days at the box office. Owing
to his Thimiru success, Sivappathigaram
has been sold in all the areas.
The producers obviously feel
that Vishal is a safe bet to
rely on at the box office.
Chennai
Kadhal
Vikraman
hits back after a long time
with Bharat and Jenilia in the
lead for Chennai Kadhal. Producers
bank on Vikraman’s works
and eventually the movie has
been sold out.

On
the other hand, Bharat’s Veyil
has not found takers for the Tirunelveli
and Kanyakumari districts. Demanding
huge sums unseen for a Bharat movie
is quoted as a reason. |

Thiruvilayadal
Dhanush
and Shreya play the lead in
the movie. The movie has been
in production for a long time
waiting for Shreya’s call
sheets who was busy with Sivaji.
On the other hand, the movie
is likely to be released before
Sivaji. The movie was produced
at a total cost of 3 crores
and is being sold for 5 crores.
Deepavali
Though
Ravi has a hit – Something
– to his credit, the movie
has a hard time finding takers
in most of the areas. The failure
of Ezhil’s previous movie
is cited to be the reason for
this sluggish trend.

Idhu
Kadhal Varum Paruvam
This
movie follows the genre discovered
by ‘Thulluvado Ilamai’,
which served as a launch pad
for Dhanush. Incidentally, this
is produced by Dhanush’s
sister and is directed and scored
by Kasturi Raja. Kiran plays
the seductress heroine and the
production cost of the movie
is reported to be a crore. The
movie is sold to Rama Narayanan
for 1.3 crore who in turn is
in the process of selling the
movie for 1.8 crore. |

Rendu
The
Maddy quotient has not worked
wonders for Rendu, nor did the
Vadivelu factor or Sundar C.
However, producer Oscar Ravichandran’s
contacts did. Owing to his business
contacts, Ravichandran could
sell the movie in most of the
areas sans a few.
Sabari
Dhamapuri’s nightmarish
experience at the box office
seemed to have prevented people
from buying Sabari. Vijayakanth’s
Sabari hardly evoked interest
among the distributors. No takers
yet.
