Who
is KD’s hot property? Ileana or
Tamanna |
|
KD
has opened all over Tamil Nadu and
the response has been, well, encouraging.
If something about the movie has managed
to catch the eye, it has to be the
performance of the two heroines of
the movie. Ileana and Tamanna have
made their presence felt in the movie
and the results off their good showing
are already there to see. |
|
|
Ileana has already gained a
firm footing in Tollywood. As
for Tamanna, offers are pouring
in from all sides and she now
has problems of prosperity.
She has already signed up for
a role opposite S J Suryah.
All this was along expected
lines. The director of KD, Jyothikrishna
had been gushing about the two
faces he had introduced to Tamil
cinema. He had predicted that
both of them would soon be hot
property in the industry. His
predictions have turned out
to be right. The only sad thing
for him being that his film
has not been able to get the
required break for his dear
brother - Ravikrishna. |
|
|
During the making of the movie
Jyothikrishna had been particularly
vocal about the potential and
sincerity of Tamanna. Now that
things are turning out to be
nice and rosy for the actress,
tongues have started wagging.
People are already talking about
a relationship that is more
than just a ‘director
actress’ one. When asked
about this Jyothikrishna was
quick to laugh off the matter.
He dismissed it as a gimmick
of the media and then gave a
detailed explanation about his
respect for Tamanna as an artiste.

|
|
|
|
If
his description is anything
to go by, then Tamanna is one
of a rare breed of actresses
that one will come across in
Kollywood. He says ‘she
is more than just an actress.
She takes complete interest
in continuity of the story and
the soundness of each scene
that is being shot. She is also
concerned about the scope off
other characters in the movie.
Simply put, she is just short
of being an assistant director’.
When was the last time a director
had such things to say about
an actress?. |
|
|
He
needed to be reminded that the
movie had one more heroine.
He was then quick to say a few
good things about Ileana. But
the words were not as lofty.
He said that Ileana was a big
star in Tollywood and her talent
was beyond doubt. Her commitment
towards her role too came in
for praise. But the flow that
was very evident when he talked
about Tamanna was missing here.
Finally, one had to ask the
question right in his face.
‘Which of the two heroines
is your favourite’? The
answer was diplomatic. |
|
|
|
‘Both
of them are good artistes’.
But he couldn’t stop himself
from adding one final quip- ‘there
is always a first among equals’.
Who is the first? No prizes for guessing.
