Kamal’s
next avatar: army or comedy? |

The
mini dust storm created by
the release of Vettaiyaadu
Vilaiyaadu has hardly settled
down and the shooting for
Dasavataaram has just about
commenced, but directors are
already making a beeline for
Kamal’s dates. It seems
that the range of characters
that are on offer are enough
even to put a man of Kamal’s
stature in a dilemma.
Kamal
fans have all reasons to get
extremely excited as the prospects
look very promising indeed.

A
This one is a story written by Major
Ravi who recently released the critically
acclaimed and highly patriotic Aran.
Though the film has not set the cash
registers ringing, the director is
being touted as one who is capable
of delivering the goods. Aran is being
termed in critic circles as a classy
effort |
|
The
new story by Major Ravi too
is based on a true incident
during his military days.
The director reportedly wants
to cast Kamal and Mohanlal
alongside each other.This
will be a terrific combination,
as two national award winners
will be testing their mettle
against each other. Major
Ravi has narrated his story
to Kamal and is waiting for
his approval. If things go
well then this film may be
shot in tandem with Dasavataaram
and may release even earlier,
that looks to be a tough task.

B
This comes from the man who gave Kamal
his last commercial laugher riot.
Saran, the man behind Vasool Raja
M.B.B.S wants the dates of Kamal once
again. It is a fact that neither Kamal
nor Saran have had a hit since Vasool
Raja. Kamal’s Mumbai Express
was a disappointment and Saran’s
Attagasam and Idaiyathirudan were
damp squibs. So the magic of the successful
team is trying to be recreated here.
The story is said to be on the same
lines of Vasool Raja; a total laugh
riot. |

|
At a time when Munna Bhai
part 2 is set to hit screens
it is easy to feel suspicious.
But one hears that this story
is original. Also, there are
talks that Saran has plans
for a movie which will see
Kamal sharing the screen with
Ajith. Looks like Saran is
trying to help good buddy
Ajith out of the difficult
phase of his career.
So
which one will Kamal opt for?
His Dasavataaram, with dialogues
from Crazy Mohan are sure
to tickle the funny bone.
So he might hesitate an out
and out comedy straightaway.
|
|
|
He
might prefer to play the contrast
and do the military character. But
these are just speculations, he might
in all probability select some other
project. Until Kamal himself makes
a statement nothing can be confirmed.
After all he is the best judge and
arguably the best actor around. |
