33
years after he mysteriously passed
away at the ripe age of 32, the reason
for which is still unknown, the legend
of Bruce Lee is coming back to set
the screens on fire. Yes, a movie
is being planned that revolves around
the life and times of the martial
arts legend and supposedly the 'fittest
man on earth'. |
|
Though
many details about the movie
are not available, it will reportedly
take a close at Bruce Lee the
person. It has to be that way
when the ones who were close
to Bruce Lee (his family) are
keenly involved in this movie.
The movie is said to be based
on the biography of Bruce Lee
that is to be authored by his
own brother Robert Lee who has
put in 10 years of research
trying to find out more personal
facts about Bruce Lee. The book
is set to release on the 25th
of November, Bruce Lee's birth
anniversary. Things will move
fast from that point with shooting
for the movie scheduled to begin
early next year. |

|
When
the movie will hit the theatres is
anybody's guess but the production
house making the movie (Beijing Jian
Yongjia) are sparing no efforts to
make the movie a great spectacle,
the grapevine is that the budget set
aside for the movie is a , 'by no
means small' $12.5 million. Apart
from this, very little about the movie
is known apart from the fact that
the name of Stephen Chow (Shaolin
Soccer fame) is doing the rounds as
a possible candidate for Bruce Lee's
role |
|
|
How
revealing the movie is going
to be about Bruce lee's life
and how authentic those facts
will be is a bone of contention
and depends upon how much Bruce
Lee's family is ready to disclose
about their long gone beloved
one. According to Lee's family
they have been deeply pained
by the stories and gossip of
all kinds about Bruce that have
been spread around ever since
his demise and want to set that
straight by letting the world
know what kind of person Bruce
was off screen. |
|
|
Bruce
Lee fans of course will be delighted
to see the life of their long
gone hero threadbare. But that
may be not what they get as
the makers are sure to take
an interest in protecting the
image of Bruce Lee as this film
is not going to be the last
that we see of the legend, a
series of movies and documentaries
are under contemplation.
What took nearly 33 years for
the family of Bruce Lee to be
pushed into redeeming their
loved one is not clear. |
|
|
|
That
they are strapped for cash is a speculation
that is rife, especially after the
statement made by Robert about his
financial status. Bruce Lee movies
have always proved to be a goldmine
of sorts. Whether this biopic can
do the trick is yet to be seen. The
legend lives on. |
