Maddy’s ‘I love you’ to an actress!!
The Chocolate boy Madhavan aka Maddy has found a new love in Konkana. Both of them met on the sets of ‘Sunglass’, a bilingual being made by Rituparno Ghosh, the renowned Bengali director who has made his mark in films like Raincoat and Choker Bali. Konkana Sen Sharma and Raima Sen are the female leads in this movie.
Madhavan
Working in this film has given Madhavan immense satisfaction. He says he was lucky to have romanced two beautiful Bengali actresses-Konkana and Raima. Konkana had already made an impact on him with Mr and Mrs. Iyer. He finds her a natural actor. He is showering her with eulogies. He says that his admiration has gone to such an extent that when he met her, he fell head over heals in love with her. (Of course with wife Sarita’s permission to say this!!!)
On the sets Maddy was found helping Ritu in the dialogue department. While commenting on this, Madhavan says that his Hindi is more immaculate and chaste when compared to that of Rituparno’s. Since the director is open to new ideas, it becomes easier suggesting novelties and the script gets polished ultimately. Maddy found it a mind-blowing experience working with Ritu. He has all praise for Ritu’s working style. “He knows how to bring out the best in me”, says Maddy. “I would be really blessed if I get a chance to work with Naseeruddin Shah and Jaya Bachan too”, he continues.

Back in Chennai, he compares Bengali and Tamil movies and finds them totally different. The working style is different though both are very meticulous.

‘Sunglass’ is a sunny tale of little infidelities, which crop up in a marriage, which becomes stale beyond the first few euphoric years. While Maddy is a doting husband, such relationships are highly unfathomable for him.
He claims that he can never do such things even in his wildest dreams to his wife Saritha. But working in such movies gives a person an opportunity to understand and comprehend similar situations. According to Maddy, infidelity is the stupidest thing on earth. It is all a matter of breach of trusts and respect for each other, he says.

Though his stance on the real life is clear, he does want to experiment with such roles in reel life, as it would help him understand a different perspective.
Madhavan
Let us wish and hope that Maddy gets an opportunity to perform in such intense movies in Tamil too.
