Simbu
on his dreams, desires and destination
|
|
Silambarasan
or Simbu is not a stranger to Tamil
audience. There would not be a second
opinion about his association with
the film industry since his infancy.
It would be an understatement if we
say that he breathes films. Simbu's
passion for films may make him look
like a maverick for those who do not
know him. He is the youngest director
Tamil film has ever produced. His
age seems to have nothing to do with
his talent be it in the acting front
or in the directorial front. |
|
|
Being the versatile artist his
father is, Simbu proves to be
the chip off the old block with
his will to experiment with
newer and finer aspects of cinema.
His directorial prowess came
to the forefront in 'Manmadhan'.
His hard work coupled with his
determination towards success
would most certainly take this
young man to places and one
can be too certain about the
laurels that he is going to
bring to Tamil films adding
to his already successful career. |

Simbu, the next Shankar?
Though he is fond of watching
films of directors like Bala,
Cheran and Selvaraghavan,
his pick would always be Shankar
as he wants cast himself in
Shankar’s mould. People
might even scorn him or deride
him for his wish to emerge
as the next Shankar. But he
says that the release of Vallavan
would change all the negative
opinion that industry has
about him. He feels that a
movie should run to packed
houses in all the trade centres
and not with just A or B.
Simbu is sure that his movies
would absolutely cast that
magic spell on all types of
viewers.

A/C
to be revived
His next film is A/C with the
cooool Asin and S J Surya as
the director. A R Rahman would
be scoring the music with Jeeva
as the cinematographer. Since
he is busy right now with the
completion formalities of Vallavan
and SJ Surya also busy with
Thirumagan, AC would begin functioning
only from January 2007. |

Release
of Vallavan
Vallavan is sure to hit for
Diwali. According to Simbu the
movie would be full of surprise
shocks. It is expectedly on
love and the aftermath of love.
People stretch themselves too
far to win in love. To win ones’
heart, they resort to any level
of stupidity. But once that
is done, their threshold seems
to reach south. Vallavan primarily
talks about the strength of
love which enables a person
to withstand and tolerate pressures
of the extreme order. |

On
his ‘onerous’ image
When questioned about his troublesome
image despite being talented
especially with the producers,
he opines that all that would
transform totally after Vallavan.
Simbu feels that a movie has
to necessarily and predominantly
satisfy the audience. When once
that is taken care of, everyone
in the fray from the theatre
owner, to the distributor to
the producer would naturally
stand to gain. Hence in this
process of satiating the audience,
there is bound to be some kind
of obstacles like the delay
in the release of a movie. If
this hurdle is crossed successfully,
then rest would fall into place
automatically. |

Future
plans including his wedding and Nayantara
Simbu plans to make five films in
the next year which leaves him absolutely
no time for romance or that’s
what he says. He is more involved
in listening to scripts, directing
a good film, traveling to various
places in connection with his films.
|
|
So
that leaves hardly any time
for romance. Though he and Nayantara
are seen together in most of
the public places and he claims
to adore her, marriage is definitely
not on the cards right now or
in the near future. Perhaps
cupid might strike them some
time but for now, it is only
a good friendship. On a concluding
note he recalls a dialogue spoken
by Nayantara in Vallavan, “It
is always better to love someone
who wants to take care of you
beautifully than to love someone
who looks beautiful”.
Perhaps this is just a leaf
out of his life. |

Wishing
Simbu all the best to scale greater
heights in filmmaking. |
