Mishkin
and Vishnuvardhan: Riding piggyback
on big heroes? |
|
|
|
|
Mishkin
and Vishnuvardhan—these were
the directors who became big for their
stories. With insignificant heroes
they managed to pull off big hits—Chitthiram
Paesudhedi and Arindhum Ariyaamalum.
But these very directors are now evincing
interest to work with big heroes like
Ajith, Vikram or Vijay? What has happened?
Why have they changed the tacks? |
|
|
It
is not that the directors now don’t
believe in the value of the story.
They feel that with a good story and
a big hero, they can perform greater
stunts at the box-office. And they
can fill their coffers too!
Make a movie with all new faces, the
budget for the film comes within a
couple of crores. The fee that the
director gets is hardly some tens
of lakhs. The producers don’t
shell out the dough if it is all new
faces. |
|
|
|
|
Bring
in a big star and make it into a big
budget movie, the producers unstintingly
pump in crores. They don’t mind
the money if the cast has a heavy
star value. The director also gets
benefited. He too gets paid in crores.
That is the reason why some new and
successful directors wish to sign
up big heroes.
The heroes don’t hesitate to
work with the new directors as long
as they hold out promise. If the movie
clicks with the audience, both the
directors and the heroes shoot up
to greater heights. |

Let
us wait and see how Mishkin and Vishnuvardhan
emerge after their big-hero projects hit
the screens. |
