Move
over Nayantara, Kamalinee is here! |

The
whole unit of ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’
is heaving a collective sigh of relief
as the movie has been cleared for
release on May 12th. The Telugu version
is also being released simultaneously
as ‘Magadheera’.
But, more than the producer 7th Channel
Manickam, director Gautham Menon,
or the leadng lady Jyothika, the person
in the industry who is most looking
forward to the release of the latest
Kamal flick ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’
is the bubbly Bengali beauty, Kamalinee
Mukherjee. |
|
|
Kamalinee,
who has a significant role in the
film, is the lady who recently captured
the hearts of cine goers in Andhra
with her sensitive portrayal in ‘Anand’.
She had also earlier appeared in Revathi’s
‘Phir milenge’, where
she co-starred with Salman Khan and
Abhishek Bachhan. The actress has
also had a successful stint as a model,
having appeared in the ads of several
leading brands like Fair and Lovely
and Parachute Hair Oil. |
|
|
|
|
She
also happens to be a trained Bharatnatyam
dancer and a theatre artiste. And,
the young and vivacious actress, with
her acting skills and effervescent
looks, is all set to give a scare
or two to some of the top heroines
of Kollywood.
Kamalinee, who makes a tongue-in-cheek
reference to herself as a ‘Bong
fish’, is a keen reader and
an avid watcher of movies. “I
have a good background in theatre
and naturally, I am very passionate
about it. I also like movies so much
that sometimes I end up watching 3
movies a day,” says Kamalinee.

|
|
Whenever
she gets compliments about her good
looks, the actress says in all humility,
“These looks are gifted to me
by parents and in fact, my siblings
are far more better looking than me!”
At the recent audio release function
of the movie ‘Godavari’,
Kamalinee wowed everyone with a glamorous
outfit, surprising many of her Telugu
fans and colleagues who are used to
seeing her in traditional dresses.
|
|
|
|
Many
of her fans would like to see her in sarees
but she says, “I like to wear jeans
and t-shirts as I feel very comfortable
in them.”
She looks most beautiful in sarees no doubt,
and probably this has prompted comparisons
with the Malabar beauty, Nayantara. Seeing
a neatly attired Kamalinee in one of her
public functions, a savvy distributor was
heard remarking, “Nayantara’s
competitor is here!”
Will the beautiful looking Kamilinee prove
as lucky as Nayantara too? Watch this space!
