Pattiyal:
The success story!! |
|
Young
director Vishnuvardhan has done it once again. After
his Arindum Ariyamalum was hailed last year’s
big hit, there was much expectation all around.
Vishnu has come out with flying colours. |

|
The
director has a pulse on the youth audience.
Therefore, the choice of story and the cast
clearly reflect his intention to woo the
youth. It is this bubblegum chewing, yuppie
crowd, which is keeping the cash registers
ringing at various theatres around Tamilnadu.
The director is honest to choose a theme,
which is contemporary, but he has packaged
it quite cleverly so that the audience can
feel sympathy for the protagonists. Organized
violence is a reality in our society. How
those who become unwittingly part of it
also perpetuate it before being consumed
by it is told in a racy manner. The film
bears Vishnu’s stamp of crisp screenplay.
Cinematography (Nirav Shah) and excellent
editing add to the drama. |

Although
it is a risky proposition in Kollywood to
cast two heroes, Vishnu’s confidence
in his script made him opt for two young
heroes. Arya and Bharath are popular stars
in their own right and coming together has
not had any problems for them. Similarly,
the roles of heroines has been well etched
out (not confined only to song and dance).
The young cast has gone all out in terms
of performance. Their trust in the director’s
intuition has paid them rich dividends.
Arya is no doubt the guy on whom the girls
drool over while Bharat has stormed with
his excellent portrayal. |

At
all the theatres in which the film was released,
the collections on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday have touched record highs. The theatre
owners are confident that if the trend continues,
the film will go on to be a super duper
hit.
This augurs well for the industry, which
is often stagnated because of mediocre films
and poor collections. |

Vishnu
and his team have proved that a story which is
told in an appealing manner will win. Good going
guys, keep it up! |
