Chitthiram
Paesuthadi music director Sundar C Babu sidelined?
|
|
|
One
big hit, Chitthiram Paesuthadi, and everyone
concerned in the cast and the crew became
a hit. Except Music Director Sundar C, Babu.
Mishkin is busy telling the story of his
next film to Vijay and Vikram, Hero Narain
has signed up several films and Heroine
Bhavana too is busy.
Now, why is Sundar C. Babu estranged from
this success?
Sundar C. Babu is none other than the son
of the famous Veena player, Vidwan Chitti
Babu. Sundar studied classical music and
then worked with Magesh and Ramesh Vinayagam. |

When
Mishkin wanted a totally unknown music director,
he zeroed in on Sundar.
The re-recording and music of songs of Chitthiram
Paesuthadi is indeed excellent but the way
the music director went about talking of
the music seems to have hurt the director.
“Gana Ulaganathan came with a song
about fish. We heard the song and then adding
some gimmicks we have made the song a super
hit,” Sundar is reported to have said.

“The
director gave me a free hand in music. Therefore
it has come about well,” is another
statement attributed to Sundar C. Babu.
Mishkin, insiders say, feels hurt by this.
“Unless the director says it is okay,
no music goes okayed,” Mishkin is
reported to have said.
Earlier in Autograph, a similar stand off
between Cheran and Bharadwaj occurred and
Cheran simply ignored the music director
in all his talk to the media. But then,
Bharadwaj is not out of the field. |

Where
there is talent, success is bound to come. No
one can smother the flames of talent, no one,
no matter how big he may be today. By the way,
all the songs of Chitthiram Paesuthadi were good
and a credit must also be given to the cinematographer
who made the songs so attractive to watch again
and again. Mention must be made of the choreographer
who made the Vaazha Meen song such a beautiful
experience to watch. |
