Kamal’s films always have something extra
to set them apart. That is why their entertainment
quotient is always high. He is a consummate artiste
and always looks for technical finesse in the
final product. His much awaited next film, Vettaiyadu
Villaiyadu’s audio release was held today
at the Sathyam Cineplex. A galaxy of personalities
from Kollywood had gathered. Besides Kamal, Jyothika,
Harris Jeyaraj, director Gowtham Menon and producer
Narayanan, AVM Saravanan, Bharathiraja, Dharani,
Lingusamy, Charan, Hari, Selvaraghavan, Parthiban,
Vijay, Arya and Vivek formed the impressive guest
list.

Proceedings
commenced with lighting of the traditional
kuthu vilakku by Vijay, Kamal, Jyothika, Gowtham
and Harris. Dharani, Lingusamy, Charan, Hari
and Selvaraghavan released the first copy.
Kamal was seen in a relaxed mood enjoying
himself with actress Gowthami and her daughter.
Kamal’s younger daughter, Akshara, was
also seen. |

Being
a police story, Chennai City Police
Commissioner, R. Natraj, was the special
guest. He showered praise on Kamal
saying that he liked his Kurudippanal
the most. He also appreciated him
for bringing messages to the masses
without sounding preachy. He said
that he was moved by his Kattipidi
vaidhiyam in Vasoolraja. He assured
the film fraternity that the police
would render all assistance in wiping
out the scourge of pirated VCDs. |

Parthiban
took the stage and regaled the gathering
with his wit. He announced that he had been
approached by several political parties
but he would only stick to Kamal’s
party because he was assured of hits only
here. Also, Kamal did not have much material
fortunes. But, it was the collective good
fortune of Tamils worldwide that Kamal stuck
to Kodambakkam, otherwise he could have
flown to Hollywood. Although he could not
predict which alliance would win in Tamilnadu,
he assured that VV would definitely win
at the box office. Vivek would not be left
behind in humor and thought aloud that probably
Commissioner Natraj was influenced by Virumaandi
to keep that shiny moustache! He also said
that Kamal was noted for his avatarams and
his Dasavataram would mark a milestone.

Director
Bharathirajaa said that he was proud of Kamal’s
achievements, as he was the epitome of all that
was beautiful in cinema. He was a true Kalaignan.

Producer
Narayanan thanked the crew for their excellent
cooperation. Kamal who spoke at last thanked
everyone who spoke before him. He said that
the event marked not only the release of
film audio but also a lot of love and compassion.
He thanked Commissioner Natraj for promising
to eliminate piracy about which his ‘partyman’
Parthiban was committed. He also wished
well for Rajini’s Sivaji which was
produced by his thaaiveedu, AVM. He also
looked forward to his next film, Dasavataram.
He said that both the films would give Tamilians
a grand feast this year. |
