An intro about yourself
Hahaha, I find it very difficult to describe what kind of a person I am! I am a shy and reserved person. At the same time if I get along, then I talk a lot.
Is it true that you did your graduation in Chennai? Can we have some insight into your Chennai life?
Yes, it is true. I love Chennai and the people here are very warm. Chennai life was awesome during my college days and even now I love to stay back in Chennai even when I don’t have shooting.
What does Manjima mean?
Manjima means beautiful.
What are you in real life?
I am a very straightforward person. And I find it very difficult these days because sometimes I have to be diplomatic. I am a fun loving person who is also insane at times hehe!!!
How did Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyada happen?
AYM happened right after my first Malayalam movie. Gautham sir saw the trailer and called me up. I went for the audition and got selected.
Did you have reservations replacing Pallavi Subash?
No, never. I was happy that I got the opportunity and nothing else really bothered me.
How was it to work with Gautham Menon?
I love working with Gautham sir. He is so much fun on the sets. Initially I was a little apprehensive but now I am very comfortable. He gives me my space and he is a very relaxed person. You will never see him running around tensed or panicked.
You will never see Gautham Menon tensed
What about your co-star Simbu?
He is a brilliant actor. In the beginning I was a little scared of him. But he is very friendly to work with. He knows a lot about movie making.
I was scared of Simbu in the beginning
What is the update on AYM? How much more is there to complete?
We have some more to finish. Hopefully we will be able to wrap it up soon.
Will you be dubbing for Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyada?
I don't think so. I am still learning to talk Tamil.
In Tamil who are your favorite actors/actresses/directors?
Obviously Rajnikanth sir, Kamal sir! My favorite heroes are Dhanush and Simbu. From the heroines, I like Nayanthara and Trisha. If it is a director, it is Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Obviously Rajnikanth sir, Kamal sir!
How is it doing a bilingual film?
Bilingual is difficult because you have to do it twice with the same feel. But at the same time its a good experience too. I don’t mind doing another bilingual movie in future.
Oru Vadakkan Selfie experience…
That was so much fun. If given a chance I want to work with the team again. And that movie is close to my heart.
What are your other projects in Tamil?
My next project is with Vikram Prabhu which will be directed by Prabhakaran sir. The shoot will begin soon and I can’t much reveal about it now.
Wish you all the best Manjima!
