First of all, as an Ajith fan Mankatha satisfies me as there is Ajith in every frame. But looking into finer details, I feel Ajith has created a niche for himself with this movie. When was the last time audiences voted and whistled for an antagonist (amaidhipadai rings a bell... anyone??)... But so far all the movies including Endhiran had a positive character played by the same face... With Mankatha Ajith has broken that barrier by playing an out and out negative character (spoiler alert : There's nothing grey about Ajith in this movie, its a totally dark character)... To have the guts to do this being a mass hero and of course the grey hair, it takes a lot of courage..... Like most Venkat Prabhu's movies, there are a few Hollywood inspirations..... But if people can appreciate a blatant 'I Am Sam' n 'Main Aisa Hi Hoon' remake, I guess Mankatha is worth the 'MONEY MONEY MONEY' Pankaj Rajan pankaj.s85@gmail.com
