Trisha
could be called the representative of the bubble-gum
chewing, wired generation. Trisha
is young and plays characters to which the youth
can relate. Yet, she cannot be slotted as just
being a glamour doll who cannot perform.
She can be moulded as required
by a talented director. She was still a teenager
when she won the Miss. Chennai contest. Modeling
happened almost by default. Her first film was
Lesa, lesa although her first release in Tamil
was Mounam pesiyadhe with Surya. Under the wings
of a perceptive director like Ameer, she came
up with a refreshing performance. She was once
again noticed for her role as the Brahmin girl
who is in love with Assistant Commissioner Aaruchamy,
in Sami. Her right mix of glamour and emotive
appeal made her character stand out. She decided
to follow this approach and found much success
as the best pair for Vijay
in Gilli and Tirupachi. She will be working
with him again in Aadhi. The Vijay-Trisha
pair is almost a perfect screen definition of
ideal pair for today’s youth audience.
Her oozing bubbly persona is well contrasted
by his taciturn demeanour.
She
has also been acknowledged by the Telugu industry
where she has worked with leading young heroes.
She has many hits notable ones being Varsham,
Okkadu and Athadu. She commands a huge popularity
there as well. In Varsham, her character had immense
scope and she has done justice to it fully.
An
avid reader and music buff, she likes to hang
out with friends which is often mistaken for being
bohemian. Far from it, Trisha
is the quintessential girl-next-door who just
happens to wear her attitude and youthfulness
right up her slender sleeves.
