Asin
– Trisha: Cold war at its peak! |

After
Simran’s departure there’s a
musical chair going on for the number one
position in both Kollywood and Tollywood
between Jothika, Trisha, Asin, Nayantatra
and Shreya. In which the escalating mêlée
is in between Asin and Trisha. Both hail
from the modeling career pitched in their
way as actresses. Being a single daughter
to learned parents, their family backgrounds
seem to be more or less similar. Both the
searing actresses had slight discomfort
in there debut films, Trisha’s Laesa
Laesa and Asin’s Ullam Ketkume created
problems. Asin tried her luck in Telugu
desam; they instantly adored this girl of
elegance. Trisha became the dream girl of
Tamilnadu with her sleek appearance, variety
movies and gana songs. While Trisha kept
her kitty full with hit Tamil numbers like
Gilli and Saami, Asin gave Telugu box office
hits like Shivamani

In
the recent past the whole scenario was quashed
through a sudden blockbuster ‘Varsham’,
which made Trisha the top heroine in Telugu.
With more offers like ‘Nuvassthanante
Naenothanntannaa’ and ‘Athadu’
she became reinstated as the queen among
the heroines in Telugu desam. As for Asin
she made ripples back in Tamilnadu with
her charismatic looks and congenial performance
pairing with top slot heroes. Asin appeared
to be choosy in her film selection which
made her every other movie a chartbuster
like M Kumaran, Gajini, Sivakasi and Majaa.
Trisha’s market was on the downtrend
in Kodambakkam.

Though Trisha the only high paid actress
with 80 lakhs, now pairing with Telugu superstar
in ‘Stalin’ is leading well
ahead in Telugu industry, she sensed a curtailed
grip in Tamil filmdom. She also realized
Asin climbing up the ranks with Gajni’s
runaway success and films like Godfather
opposite Ajith, AC opposite Simbu and Puli
lined up.
In a desperate move,
Trisha virtually fought and cut her salary
to a meager amount for her chance to pair
opposite Vijay in Aathi. Asin for her part
has declared that she would act for free
without salary opposite Pavan Kalyan in
the Telugu remake of ‘Thirupaachi’
for Trisha’s character in Tamil

Even in Ad films this heated antagonism
is head to head as Asin has been endorsed
as the new Mirinda girl in south for the
orange drink. This is what she had to say
to the media people, “I am getting
so many endorsement offers but I do carefully
pick and choose the products that I endorse
with utmost care. Actually even Fanta had
approached me but I preferred to be Mirinda’s
brand ambassador as it is my personal favourite”.
Trisha being endorsed by Fanta earlier,
the battle Asin Vs Trisha is incessant.
Impending movies
and their results would end this frenzied
animosity. Its Trisha luck with Aathi and
Asin’s charm with Godfather coupled
with other few films in their kitty which
would decide their destiny towards the top
slot. But you two pretty woman check out,
as there might be a Mumbai model or a Mallu
actress who could swamp your places leaving
you nowhere
